In a sensational fight, Germany won the first two periods by two goals each, before the Norwegian favourite increased pressure on Germany's fantastic goalie Nils Hallerstede. Though there was enourmous pressure on the German goal and two early scores in the third period, Uwe Wolf's team was able to stand it and finally won 4:3.
