In this start-up match of the tougher Europe 2 qualification group in Rakonievice, Poland, Hungary beat Estonia in an interesting match. Estonia took the early lead, which was tied by the Hungarians, who controlled most of the match, while the Baltics were especially dangerous in fast break play. In the second period, the "Magyarok"s strenghtened their position and more and more raised the lead. Finally even saving a penalty shot and surviving a two-man short-handed situation in third period, they deserved to win in this important match for both teams.
